I'm Scott Harper. I've lived the majority of my life in California's Central Valley. I was born in Lodi, California, in 1961, to a farmer and the daughter of a railroad engineer. Prior to attending law school, I worked in the computer and agricultural industries. I also assisted both of my parents in their individual small businesses.
I have lived, worked and worshiped in several communities throughout the Central Valley including Bakersfield, Visalia, Stockton, Lodi and Sacramento. Having spent nearly all of my life in the San Joaquin and Sacramento valleys, I understand the unique culture we have. That culture includes a passion for a job well done, pride in being self-sufficient and the willingness to stay with the job until it is done. My goal is to work hard to clear the the obstacles between you and your goals.
I also understand the unique problems that businesses and people face making their way through today's challenging legal environment. Now, with over 25 years of trial experience, I stand ready to work with you to overcome those challenges and give you the best chance to reach your desired result.
Scott L. Harper
Following graduation from law school in 1991, I joined the law firm that was then known as Clifford, Jenkins & Brown in Bakersfield, California. Until 2004, I tried cases for large corporations, family owned businesses and individuals. In 2004, my family and I moved to Stockton, California where I continued my trial practice and expanded my experience to include real estate, Probate (wills & Trusts), business formations and dissolutions at the firm of Brown, Hall, Shore & McKinley. Returning to Bakersfield in 2015, I have continued to represent clients in the same types of matters.
In addition to my skills as a litigator, I am also a trained mediator that has successfully resolved disputes involving trust matters, personal injury, business disputes, breaches of contract and property rights.
